Pro-Am Calgary: the Vytality Vipers strike back
It’s that time of year when our thoughts here at Vytality at Home turn to – ice!
Once again, we’ve entered our eager and energetic hockey team, The Vytality Vipers, in this year’s Gordie Howe CARES Pro-Am hockey tournament.
Team captain Brad and the Vipers will be taking part in the tournament this weekend, held at the Flames Community Arena in Calgary. It’s a full-on, non-stop two days of fast and fun games that pitches local amateur teams against each other on the ice. The twist is that each team will be joined by one of the elite players from the NHL Alumni.
Raising funds for Gordie Howe CARES
The competition is a major fundraising event, with team competing to raise the highest amount of funds for Gordie Howe CARES, a charity supporting caregivers in the areas of research, education and support services. So far, even before the event starts, the donations have totalled almost $1,480,000.

The Vipers are back….
To enter a team in the Gordie Howe Pro Am, you have to raise a minimum of $25,000. At the time of writing, the team has raised over $49,800, and we’d love to get over that magic $50,000 mark!

Friday night is draft night
Each team gets to choose an NHL Alumni player to play on their team at a special Draft event on Friday night. How much choice you get depends on the money your team is donated; the more you raise, the higher you can draft!
As usual, we have absolutely no idea which hockey hero we might draft this year, but that’s why this tournament is so much fun!. Check out who might be playing with us from the 2025 participating NHL Alumni.
The Vipers on the ice
Up to 24 teams complete in the tournament overall, with players required to be aged 18 or over. Each team in the tournament gets to play three games over the weekend, usually two on Saturday and one on Sunday. Come cheer on the Vytality Vipers at the Flames Community Arenas!
