The Vytality Vipers play at the Gordie Howe CARES ProAm hockey tournament

It’s just a week before the start of the Gordie Howe CARES ProAm hockey tournament, and we are so excited! This incredible hockey tournament gives us ice hockey weekend hockey warriors the opportunity to play alongside our heroes from the NHL Alumni.

It’s a fast-paced two days where amateur teams compete against each other on the ice and to raise funds for dementia awareness. The top fundraising team get to play against a team of NHL Alumni in the grand finale to the tournament.

All the money raised by this popular Calgary fundraising event supports people affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia by helping fund research and awareness of Alzheimer’s, dementia and dementia related behaviours.

Go the Vytality Vipers!

We love our hockey here at Vytality at Home, so we’ve entered our own team, the Vytality Vipers!

Vytality at Home Co-President and Co-Founder Brad Lohman Vytality’s is also the Program and Services Director for Gordie Howe CARES, so it was a natural fit for us to strap on our skates for such a great cause.

Please help us raise funds by sponsoring our Team Captain Bradley Lohman here.

$1million fundraising target

The Gordie Howe CARES ProAm hockey tournament 2022 aims to raise $1million for the Gordie Howe CARES charity. The charity’s mission is:

“To ensure dignity, support and education are provided to caregivers of people living with Alzheimer’s and dementia related diseases so they are never alone on their journey. support local people living with dementia and their caregivers with education, support services and Adult Day Programs.”

Playing with an NHL legend

As a team, the Vytality Vipers have already fundraised over $25,000 to even enter, but we want to raise a whole lot more! The top fundraising teams get to pick their NHL Alumni to play in their team in the tournament first.

Vytality co-founder Brad and the Vipers team want to play with the very best on our side to raise awareness and much-needed funds to support people living with dementia here in Calgary.

The big moment comes on Friday 27th May. That’s the night when we get to choose our NFL Alumni legend to play with us (or us with them!) as part of the Vytality Vipers team!
